Realizing The Diversity Advantage

A Management Training Module

Overview

Today's society is now comprised of people who come from all over the world, and this diversity is a strength that provides us a distinct advantage, if we choose to manage it effectively.

Our competitors are good and getting better. When organizations respect peoples from all cultures and value perspectives of people from different life circumstances, they will have the advantage of achieving their missions in the 21st century. To sustain this winning combination, we must recognize the full potential of everyone.

"Realizing The Diversity Advantage" is a program of discussions, small group exercises and experiential learning activities designed to frame diversity as a key business issue today. Using a modular and variable length format, the program is focused on diversity as inclusiveness and informs managers and leaders in what they need to know and do to empower everyone connected to the organization.

The style of the program is simple and direct. Exercises are engaging and relevant for all levels of management and leadership. The materials and agenda are skillfully tailored to meet unique organizational requirements.

The program leaves participants with an awareness and appreciation of the fact that:

"We are all created equal, but we are not all the same.
That is our advantage."

Comparative Advantage

Our competitors are good and getting better. To sustain a winning combination, we need to realize the full potential of everyone. This can be done by creating an environment where all feel valued, included, empowered and recognized.

Adam Smith: "…Each nation should capitalize on its comparative advantage." Diversity is comparative advantage. It must be nurtured and grown to sustain us. Ignore it, and we squander centuries of effort.
